DESCRIPTION

It is considered the big week of Andujar, being celebrated with great recollection and religiosity since ancient times. The great artistic and cultural value of the images of the different brotherhoods and sororities that carry out their processions through the typical streets of our municipality.

Starting in the seventies of the last century, the coastal activity by young people of both sexes was definitively established, which further increased its great beauty and popular devotion.

Andujar Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday with the Brotherhood of La Borriquita. Processional departures continue on Holy Days, reaching maximum splendor on Holy Thursday with Our Father Jesus of the Great Power, to end on Good Friday with Our Lady the Blessed Virgin in her Solitude.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Madrid

Arrival at Madrid airport and transfer to accommodation. In the afternoon,  visiting the Madrid de los Austrias, the well-known San Miguel market and the Plaza Mayor.

Day 2 - Andujar 

Transfer by train to Andujar and free time to get to know the atmosphere of the city. In the afternoon, our host will talk to us about the importance of Holy Week in Andalusia and Andujar in particular.

Day 3 - Saint Thursday 

Holy Thursday in which the steps and pilgrimages begin to leave the churches with a solemnity that will make your skin crawl.

Day 4 - Ubeda and Baeza 

In the morning we will move to the World Heritage Cities of Ubeda and Baeza, where we will continue our immersion in Holy Week in Jaen.

Day 5 - Triduum Pascual 

Third day of the "Easter Triduum" of silent waiting by the tomb. No liturgical acts.

Day 6 - Easter Sunay 

Easter Sunday that continues with a great atmosphere and processions.

Day 7 - Jaen 

After breakfast, we will go to Jaen to visit the Cathedral and enjoy a tapas route.

Day 8 - Madrid 

Transfer to Madrid by train and transfer to the airport.
