DESCRIPTION
The Basilica and Royal Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Cabeza was initially built between 1287 and 1304 in the Cerro de la Cabeza, from which the Virgin takes its title, located in the same place where the appearance of the image took place in 1227. During its existence it underwent several transformations, the main one occurred in the late sixteenth century, by the hands of the architect Andrés de Valdelvira.
The pilgrimage to the Basilica is the second oldest in Spain, with nearly 800 years of history. Named by writers such as Cervantes and Lope de Vega. Enjoy its most exciting moments with the transfer of the image from the dressing room to the litter, where she spends the night waiting for the arrival of the walkers. All this, and much more, you can experience with us. In addition, Ubeda and Baeza will be a perfect combination to discover the province of Jaen.
